In my exploration of the interaction between communities and the landscape, I am as experienced in quickly earning the trust and rapport as he is experienced with his camera. Aiming to seamlessly blend in amongst the close friends and family present 

Specialising in narrative documentary, Tom studied Photography in Bath - achieving a First Class BA with honours. Remaining immersed in all things Photography, he has worked in a fast paced independent analogue film lab to continue honing his skills since graduating

familiar with traditional photographic practice, I am a highly skilled analogue photographer, with a deep understanding of 35mm and medium format film - which informs my digital photography.

GIVING YOUR IMAGES THAT NOSTALGIC, OUTSIDE OF TIME, DREAMLIKE FEEL

I'm Tom, a Bath based photographer, working across the UK.

Sometimes cliches are just true. I can't remember a time where photography wasn't my all-consuming obsession. My journey began with a humble iPod, and progressed into inheriting my Grandfather's Nikon 35mm film camera - this one kind gesture determining the literal viewfinder through which I see the world.

A few short years and numerous rolls of film later, I was studying photography at university - finding my stride in fine art documentary practice. I remained committed to analogue film, hand developing and printing much of my 1st Class BA HONS in the darkroom. Film sharpened my technical understanding of Photography and manipulating light - demanding the upmost care and consideration. My considered approach, informed by film, continues to remain central to how I work digitally - understanding the volume your wedding day necessitates.

Documentary Photography gave me licence to interact with people I would not normally have had the confidence to approach. My study taught me comfort in my own skin and confidence in my ability.

My human, narrative led approach to Documentary Photography has always informed my approach to Weddings - story led, people centric, with a keen observation of detail.

Immediately upon completion of my degree, I was offered a position as a technician at a prestigious fine art print and film processing studio in Bristol, where I continued to hone my understanding of colour, editing and visual literacy.
